Out of Thin Air

Calavera Limited, initially branded as Out of Thin Air (OOTA), are an engineering team commercialising 3D printing technology for bikes, allowing consumers access to performance products currently only available to elite athletes and solving global supply chain issues in the process.

The incumbent custom bicycle supply chain is painfully slow, dependant on Chinese factories and leaves a large carbon footprint, so it is in dire need of a scalable revolution.

The OOTA team includes the co-founder of cycling apparel maker Rapha, which was sold to Walmart for £200m in 2015, and the designer of the 2012 Olympic track bikes that sparked the renaissance of British Cycling.

The team have already raised £320k (including £250k SEIS investment) and are now raising an £185k EIS-qualifying tranche which should allow them to complete the R&D phase and be ready for commercial rollout.
