As part of the run up to our 30th Anniversary of EIS Celebration event, we are shining the spotlight on success stories of businesses that have grown using the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) or the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).

These stories demonstrate why it is so important for us to celebrate and support the schemes so they can continue to boost the UK start up ecosystem.

Emiliana Hall, CEO and Founder of The Mindful Birth Group

“The [SEIS and EIS] funding was crucial”, says Emiliana Hall, CEO and Founder of The Mindful Birth Group

We spoke with Emiliana to learn more about how her startup used the Enterprise Investment Scheme to grow into a success story.

How important has SEIS/EIS funding been to your startup?

“SEIS/EIS funding has played a critical part in the growth and success of The Mindful Birth Group.”
“As a company dedicated to providing expert-led, accessible antenatal education, securing this funding allowed us to accelerate our development and expand our services.”
“It provided us with the necessary financial stability to focus on building the unique PregnaHub® app, which supports expectant parents throughout their pregnancy journey and beyond with a focus on the UK maternity system which no other app does.”

“The funding was crucial in ensuring that we could maintain the highest standards of service while reaching a wider audience.”

How much did you raise and from who?

“We have successfully raised £197,000 in total through SEIS/EIS so far, supported by a group of angel investors who share our vision of empowering parents-to-be with the knowledge and tools they need for a positive birth and postnatal experience.”

“These investors were not only attracted by the potential for financial returns but were also aligned with our mission to transform the antenatal education landscape.”

What has SEIS/EIS investment enabled you to do?

“The SEIS/EIS investment enabled us to develop and launch our PregnaHub® app, a comprehensive resource that provides everything from pregnancy exercise classes and midwife Q&A sessions to an extensive e-learning library.”

“It also allowed us to enhance our training programs for teachers and a free CPD course for midwives, ensuring that our courses are consistently delivered to the highest standard across the UK.”

“Additionally, this funding supported our marketing efforts, allowing us to reach more expectant parents earlier in their pregnancy, when the UK maternity system is failing to provide this critical support.”

How are you changing the world?

“The Mindful Birth Group is changing the world by redefining the pregnancy and birth experience for parents and care providers.”

“We are empowering parents-to-be with the confidence, knowledge, and support they need to approach their own childbirth experience with a calm and positive mindset. By offering expert-led education and ongoing support through our PregnaHub® platform, we are confident that we are not only improving birth outcomes but also enhancing the overall well-being of families during one of the most transformative times in their lives.”

“We are in the early stages, but our work is contributing to a shift in how society views and approaches childbirth, promoting a more informed, mindful, and supportive experience for all involved, including midwives.”
