The EIS Association (EISA) extends its deepest thanks to two longstanding members of the Board who are stepping down after many years of exceptional dedication and service.
Martin Sherwood, founder of the EIS Association, is stepping down from the Board after more than 30 years of close involvement with the Association. From the very beginning, Martin has played a pivotal role in shaping the Association, championing its mission, and guiding its growth. His vision and commitment has been instrumental in the expansion of the Association and he has been a driving force behind the Ready Steady Grow events series across the UK. We’re pleased to confirm that, whilst he steps down from the Board, Martin will continue to contribute to the Association as Chair of the Membership, Marketing and Events Committee. Martin will also be joining EISA’s new Advisory Board, further details of which will be shared soon.
Mark Brownridge, former Director General of EISA, is also stepping down from the Board after more than eight years of longstanding commitment, initially as Director General and latterly whilst working for EISA member, Blackfinch. Mark’s insight, leadership, and advocacy have been instrumental in strengthening the Association’s presence and influence across the sector. His contributions have left a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and wisdom he has brought to the Board.
Martin Sherwood shared, “I am so proud of what we’ve achieved at EISA over the years. Heartfelt thanks to the many wonderful people who have given their tireless support – you know who you are! This is not farewell as I intend to remain in the industry and continue to promote our superb schemes for as long as I can.”
Mark Brownridge commented, “It’s been one of the honours of my working life to serve EISA as both DG and as a board member. When I started, one of my hopes was that when the time came to leave, the Association and the EIS industry would be in a much better and stronger place and I definitely feel through the work the Board and I have committed that this has been achieved. EISA and the many people involved will always be close to my heart so it’s au revoir not goodbye.”
Joanna Jensen, Chair of the EIS Association, added “The Association relies on the expertise of those who engage with EIS and SEIS on a daily basis. Martin and Mark have provided us with invaluable guidance, energy and support throughout their time on the Board. Their legacy will be felt for many years to come. As they step back from their roles, we offer our heartfelt thanks and look forward to welcoming new members to the Board to continue building on the foundations they’ve helped lay.”
We thank Martin and Mark once again for everything they’ve done for EISA and the wider EIS community.
We will shortly begin the process of recruiting new Board members to help guide the next phase of EISA’s journey. If you are interested in applying or would like to find out more, please click here.
