As part of the run up to our 30th Anniversary of EIS Celebration event, we are shining the spotlight on success stories of businesses that have grown using the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) or the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).

These stories demonstrate why it is so important for us to celebrate and support the schemes so they can continue to boost the UK start up ecosystem.

COCOON CLUB Founders

“EIS has helped us to unlock over 2M of investment since 2019”, says CEO Kate Rand

We spoke with Kate to learn more about how COCOON Club used the Enterprise Investment Scheme to grow into a success story.

How important has SEIS/EIS funding been to your startup?

“EIS has helped us to unlock over 2M of investment since 2019, which has been critical to our growth as traditional financing and investment options outside of individual angel investors have not been available to us.”

“Without EIS we would have struggled to get this funding, and ultimately struggled to launch and grow COCOON.”

How much did you raise and from who?

“Over 2M over the past four years, from angel investors, future fund and Kering ventures.”

What has SEIS/EIS investment enabled you to do?

“EIS has enabled us to get the attention and investment from angel investors.”

How are you changing the world?

“We are making luxury accessible and providing a more sustainable way for people to enjoy luxury goods. For the daily price of a cup of coffee, or the monthly cost of a fast fashion bag, members get access to 1000’s of luxury bags, that we maintain with our in house bag care experts.”

“We are working with brands to show them a more sustainable way to generate revenue from their products and helping to solve the fashion industries multi billion pound overstock problem.”
